Shout out to Garrett, one of my 2019 #jdpseniors. This guy graduated from York Comprehensive High School tuh-day! Congratulations @garrettcody1234!!!🎉🎉

My stomach drops, I start sweating, my heart start

My stomach drops, I start sweating, my heart starts pounding, and I feel all of the blood rush from my face. What causes this moment of instant anxiety? Just the school nurse’s number showing up on my phone right in the middle of, what was moments ago, a great and productive morning. ⠀

She said that Gia complained of her ear hurting, and after examining her she recommended that I have her checked for an ear infection. First off, Gia has the worst seasonal allergies that I’ve ever encountered in my lifetime, so “ear infections” are something that we deal with every single spring—just as many other mommas do. ⠀
⠀
However, what she had is not a true ear infection, it’s just the fluid backing up into allllll of her little sinuses with no way to escape. ⠀
⠀
I picked her up from school just to make SURE she was ok, and, in fact, NOT in writhing pain. She wasn’t, but she was definitely uncomfortable. So we came home, got into cozy clothes, and got started on the routine that has worked for clearing this ear fluid issue for five years now. ⠀
⠀
1️⃣ I put A LOT of lavender, lemon, and peppermint in the diffuser. ⠀
⠀
2️⃣ Rubbed a drop of purification around each ear, and down the sides of her neck. Followed with a drop of lavender in the same pattern. ⠀

3️⃣ Gave her a lymphatic drainage massage for a few seconds. (There are YouTube videos for how to do this...I would simply post a video of me doing it, but this is the last week of tax season so saying that I look too haggard for that is an understatement, trust me). ⠀

4️⃣ Repeated steps 2 and 3 every 30 minutes until the fluid and discomfort were gone....which was three applications. (If it’s a bad case, we’d have repeated those steps every 15, and would have also added a warm compress.)⠀

Going to the doctor for this would have likely ended with an antibiotic, and I don’t want her little gut to be put through that any more than is absolutely necessary. Thankfully we have too many God-given tools in our momma toolkits available to us to help support their little bodies before that would be the answer. ⠀

Now she’s good. It’s back to backbends, GoNoodle, & trying her best to teach me how to Orange Justice. 😝

The first thing I do in the mornings (rain or shine) is pull the blinds all the way up at this window in my kitchen. I spend a lot of time standing in this spot every day (don’t we all), and it makes the work a little less tedious if I can feel the warm sunshine, and watch the deer and foxes in the backyard while I’m there.☀️🦊⠀

Well, on Sunday we finally saw the sun after MONTHS of non-stop rain (really like 5 days, but it seemed like A LOT longer), and I wasted no time getting into spring cleaning mode. I jerked the blinds up and got to making alllll the Thieves stuff. Whether you’re new to Young Living, or a years-long user, did you know that most of their products are HIGHLY concentrated and can be diluted?😉⠀

Life hack: dilute their dish detergent, hand soap, laundry detergent, and of course the household cleaner. It took me years to figure this out, and now I dilute everything from the Thieves line to the shampoo and conditioner. This really helps the products stretch, and gets you the most bang for your buck.💰⠀

And I’m so happy that I’ve gotten to be a witness to all of those stages with this sweet pair. Right now they are nesting like crazy, patiently waiting for little miss Kara Leah’s arrival within the next three weeks. ⠀

I’m thrilled to send them their completed maternity session images today. I’m sure it’ll be a welcome distraction from their waiting game. ⏳⠀

Congratulations again Adrianne + Michael! And I can’t wait to meet your precious girl...however, I promise to hold her only briefly, ‘cause newborn whisperer I am not. 😬😝⠀
